Chars Life and Times

I was listening to our local news on television and heard about a little four year old girl abandoned at a liquor store in Springfield, Illinois which is about 32 miles from where I live. Can you imagine that? Apparently what happened is that the mom and stepdad pulled the liquor store door open just enough to get the little girl in. They then pushed her in and ran off. The liquor store clerk said the little girl was cute as a button and he thought they just let her in to buy some candy, but then they just took off.

The clerk called the police who located the couple a short distance away walking. The couple was arrested and charged with endangering the health of a child. The stepfather posted $100 bail and was released. The little girl’s mother was still in jail and being held on a warrant charging her with violating a protection order. 

Meanwhile, the case has been turned over to the Department of Child and Family Services. They have the girl in their custody right now, and they say she is in good condition.

How can parents do that and why are they so stupid? If they really felt they needed to get rid of the little girl, why didn’t they just take her to Child and Family Services, a police station or even a fire station? If they would have done that, they wouldn’t be in so much trouble and then the little girl would be taken care of. Why did they just dump her at a liquor store? Some people are so stupid and ignorant.
